Visit To Sewage Treatment Plant and Water Treatment Centre 2023
IV BHMS students of Father Muller Homoeopathic
Medical College visited water purification plant at Thumbe, Mangalore on 08.02.2023
and 09.02.2023. During the visit students observed the raw water lifting and pumping
station, flocculation chamber, chemical treatment room, chlorination unit,
rapid sand filter beds. Quality control engineer explained and interacted with
the students regarding water treatment.
On 8/02/2023 they visited Sewage treatment
plant at Kavoor, Mangalore and observed the screening unit, Grit chamber,
primary sedimentation tank, secondary treatment plant, sludge digestion tank
and tertiary treatment plant. Service Engineer of the plant explained and
interacted with the students. Students were very enthusiastic to learn about the
various steps involved in sewage treatment.
The entire batch of 86 students were divided
into two groups for the better learning purpose and they took part actively.
