FDP & Workshop for the faculty members
The Faculty Development Program Committee of
Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College organized two days session on "Role
of statistics in health research" followed by a workshop "Hands on training on
QuickCalc by Graph Pad- A statistical software" on 21st and 22nd
March 2023.
Resource person for the both the days was Dr
Kurian P J, Associate Professor, Department of Case taking and Repertory and an
active member of Research and Scientific Committee of Father Muller
Homoeopathic Medical College. Beneficiaries of the program were the faculty
members of the college.
On day 1, session on "Role of statistics in
health research", started at 9 am, with a brief welcome and the introduction of
the resource person by Dr Deepa Pais. Resource person stressed on the need for
research in medical field, tools required for the research. With the help of a
concept map he classified the kind of data obtained in the various kinds of research
projects and suggested statistical tests which can be utilized in order to
analyze the collected data in very simplified and easy method. Session ended at
12.30pm.
Workshop was conducted on day 2 with the title
"Hands on training on QuickCalc by Graph Pad- A statistical software". It started
at 9 am with the introduction of the resource person by Dr Rajachandra. During
the workshop the participants analyzed the data given by the resource person by
using the software Quickcalc of Graph Pad and Statistic kingdom. The session
concluded at 12.30 pm after the resolution of the doubts by the participants.
Faculty members were interactive in both the
sessions and appeared to have benefitted from them. They were asked to give
their feedback and suggestions on both the sessions through google forms that
would be shared after the session. As a
gesture of gratitude resource person was felicitated with a memento by Fr Roshan
Crasta, Administrator, FMHMC. Program concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr
Rajachandra.
