FMHMC students participation in International Day of Yoga 2023 at FMCI
The International Day of Yoga
Day was celebrated in the Father Muller Charitable Institutions on 21.06.2023 in Father Muller Indoor
Stadium, Kankanady. Rev Fr Richard A Coelho, Director, FMCI inaugurated the
programme.
Rev Fr Richard A Coelho in his
presidential address reminded the gathering of the importance of yogic science
in spirituality. He quote saying 'the one who knows how to speak, avoids
quarrel; likewise, the one who knows how to eat avoids illness; attaining
wellness. Yoga practiced from Vedic times was systematically practiced from the
1800 in a organized manner and spreading around the world in its various forms.
It has been a great contribution to the world, creating health awareness and tranquility
of body and mind. He stressed on 3 points that a Yoga practitioner attains
namely Sufficient physical strength, Sound mental intellect and will power and
Serenity or wholeness of Soul.
Dr Usha, Assoc. Professor, Father
Muller College (Speech and Hearing) Demonstrations and conducted series of
Yog-Asanas.
700 participants along with volunteers
of the National Service Scheme (NSS) of other educational units of FMCI participated
in the mass yoga session.
Members of the Management
Committee of the Father Muller Charitable Institutions, Dr Deeraj Fernandes,
NSS Program Officer, Dr Nisha Yoga and Naturopathy Consultant, Mr Chenna Keshava
Physical Education Instructor, FMHMC and faculty of the various units of FMCI were
present on this occasion.
