World Breast Feeding Week - 2018
In view of the ‘World Breastfeeding week’, The Paediatric Department in collaboration with Community Medicine Department of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital had organized an awareness programme from 1st to 7th of August 2018 at Father Muller Homoeopathic OPD.
The awareness talks in the form of a documentary were given by Dr Sowmya NS, Dr Soumya S, Dr Sr Mable, Dr Akshatha and Dr Yashaswini on the ‘Benefits of Breastfeeding and its contraindicationsâ€. The beneficiaries were the Father Muller OPD patients.
With regard to the Breastfeeding week, an Awareness talk and general medical check-up were organised at Kotekar Anganwadi on the 8th of August 2018, Santhosh Nagar Anganwadi on the 9th of August 2018 and Bagamvilla Anganwadi on the 9th of August 2018.
At the Anganwadi, the beneficiaries were the mothers of the Anganwadi children, teachers and locals. Patients in need were prescribed medicines and few with chronic complaints were given the white card and directed to Father Muller OPD for treatment which would be free of cost for the first 3 months.
