International Yoga Day - 2016
"International Yoga Day" was celebrated at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital on Wednesday, the 22nd June 2016 at 7.30 a.m. The programme was inaugurated by Dr Devadas K. Putran, District AYUSH Officer, D.K., Mangaluru, by lighting of the lamp along with the other dignitaries.
Dr Shivaprasad K., Principal, welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest. Dr Devadas K., the Chief Guest, in his speech explained the importance of Yoga and highlighted peace and harmony aspect of Yoga in daily life. Rev. Fr Vincent Saldanha, Administrator, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, in his presidential address spoke on effectiveness of Yoga and stressed the students to learn yoga as it is a complementary intervention to treat various incurable diseases. Dr Sunitha D'Souza, Dept. of Yoga & Naturopathy, delivered the vote of thanks.
After the formal programme, Mass Yoga session was conducted for the staff & students.
Rev. Fr Sylvester Lobo, Asst. Administrator, Rev. Fr Peter Noronha, Founder Director, Dr Prabhukiran, Vice Principal, Dr Sudhamathi, HOD, Dept. of Community Medicine were present on the occasion.
