CME- FERTILE 2019

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology organized a Continued Medical Education on 16 June 2019 at Father Muller Homeopathic Medical College, Deralakatte Auditorium.

 The total number of delegates who attended the CME was 323, which included students of II & III BHMS, Interns, Postgraduates, Homoeopathic faculty members and also doctors from in and around Mangalore  and  Kerala.  The  theme  for  the  CME  was  on  “INFERTILITY-  FERTILE  2019”. The Programme started by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer song. Dr. Shivaprasad K, Principal, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College welcomed and introduced the Chief guest, Dr Geeta Jose, hod and professor department of obstetrics and gynaecology, government homoeopathic medical college. Thereafter Dr ESJ Prabhu Kiran, Vice Principal, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College welcomed Dr Geetha Jose, with a floral boquet followed by the lighting of the lamp.

Rev Fr Roshan Crasta, Administrator of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, gave his message and spoke about the statistical increase in the number of cases of infertility and also congratulated the team of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, for Organising this CME on the topic of infertility. The vote of thanks given by Dr Vilma D’Souza, HOD and Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College. She spoke about the emotional aspects of infertility and also mentioned the objective of this CME is to enable us to study few additional things about infertility and thereby helping the society.

The inauguration programme followed by the scientific session by Dr Geetha Jose. She spoke about the different causes, pathology, investigations and treatment with homoeopathic Management of infertility in males and females. She explained the treatment of infertility through cases that she has experienced in her practice. After the scientific session, there was an open form session that had four participants. Dr Amuda from Kerala homoeopathic medical college presented a paper on “the effectiveness of homoeopathic medicine in Azospermia”. Dr Mini I.V. presented a paper on “Homeopathy in Secondary Infertility”. Sr Priya James presented her research paper on “An observational study on the effectiveness of Kreosotum 30 in bacterial vaginitis with the evaluation of pre-and post vaginal smear examination and Vulvovaginal symptoms questionnaire”. The last open forum was presented by Dr Ancy George on the topic to determine the “efficacy of Trifolium pratense 30 in menopausal syndrome”.

Total 323 delegates attended the CME programme. CME was very well appreciated by the delegates. The CME ended with the lunch at 2 PM. Dr. Salini Mandal, Assistant Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology was the MC for the CME Programme.
