MEDICAL HEALTH CAMP AT ST AGNES – PRIMARY SCHOOL (KANNADA MEDIUM) on 27.03.2019

On the 27th of March 2019, a team of 8 doctors from Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College visited the St Agnes – Primary School (Kannada medium) at Bendur, Mangalore for a medical health camp. The team comprised of Dr Reshel Noronha ( Staff in charge), 4 Post graduates: Dr Yashaswini, Dr Shruti, Dr Graceful and Dr Sajjad , and 3 interns: Ms Rosmin, Ms Sadiya & Mr Pravin. The team was welcomed by Sr Jyotsna , Head mistress of the school. The camp commenced at 10 am with a short inauguration program. The Superior of St Agnes was the chief guest of the program. The welcome address was given by a staff followed by the lighting of the lamp. Thereafter the health talk was delivered by Dr Yashawini in Kannada on Hygiene, Nutrition, Common ailments in Mother & child and Awareness of Homoeopathic System of Medicine. There was an interactive session with the participants during the talk. After the talk the vote of thanks was delivered by another staff.

After the inauguration program, we began the health checkup. Dr Graceful, Ms Rosmin and Ms Sadiya sat for the registration & General Checkup of the patients (BP, Height, Weight). Dr Reshel, Dr Yashaswini and Dr Shruti sat for consultation. Dr Sajjad and Mr Pravin were in charge of dispensing the medicines.

There were a total of 148 patients. Out of them 93 were women and 55 were children. Out of 55 children 21 were males and 34 were females. Most of the women were housewives & house maids. The common conditions observed in the children were caries, Upper respiratory tract infections and worm infestation. In the women the following conditions were prevalent: gastritis, functional dyspepsia, lumbo-sacral strain, diabetes mellitus (1 case), rheumatoid arthritis( 1 case) ,dysmenorrhea, migraine and dysfunctional uterine bleeding. All the patients were examined and the homoeopathic medicines were dispensed. They were asked to visit the OPD at Kankanady or Deralakatte for future follow-ups. The camp concluded at 2: 30 pm.
