Zone Women Basketball Tournament cum Selection Trials 2024-25 was hosted by Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College, Deralakatte on 15th
& 16th October 2024. Rev Fr Faustine L. Lobo, Designate Director, FMCI and Administrator, FMHMC Inaugurated the tournament on 15th October 2024 at Basketball court of the college.

Homoeopathic Medical College welcomed the gathering and introduce the chief
guest.
Chief Guest Rev. Fr Faustine L. Lobo in
his inaugural address he spoke about the rich history of the college as it
celebrates its Ruby Jubilee and inspired the players with his words on
sportsmanship. He emphasized the importance of "3 Cs" - Cooperation,
Collaboration and Coordination - in achieving success. He encouraged the
participants to fight hard, stating that while not everyone may win, the real
victory lies in giving their best effort. He further highlighted that sports
aims to foster fitness and health, revealing the true strength of character in
competition.

The formal Inaugural function was concluded with the
Institution Anthem. The programme kicked off with Chief guest shooting a ball
into the basket to inaugurate the event.
12 Teams in Inter
Zone Men Basketball and 11 teams in Single Zone Basketball from affiliated under RGUHS are
participating in the tournament.
Valedictory of the tournament and
prize distribution was held on 16.10.2024. Rev Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, Dr
E.S.J. Prabhu Kiran, Principal, Dr Vilma M Dsouza, Vice Principal, Mr
Chandrakant, Physical Education Director, Navodaya Medical College, Raichur
observer for the tournament, along with RGUHS selection committee members Mr
Shantharaju, Physical Education Director from Aditha Institutions, Bangalore
and Mr Manjunath, Physical Education Director from East West College of
Pharmacy, Bangalore, Mr Chennakeshava,
Physical Education Director and RGUHS Convener of the tournament Father Muller
Homoeopathic Medical College and Sports Committee of the college were present
on this occasion.
