Eye Donation Awareness Programme
The Youth Red Cross Wing of Father
Muller College of Nursing organized an Eye Donation Awareness Programme on
21.07.2017 at 09.00am in the Rajath Bhavan. The objective of this programme was
to create mass awareness and to bridge the gap between demand and supply of
cornea.
Sri M K Krishna, State Convener, Eye Donation Subcommittee of Indian Red
Cross Society, Karnataka State branch, who is also the Chairman of Eye Bank
Association of India (South Zone) conducted an awareness programme on Eye Donation and
Eye Banking, which was helpful to educate, eliminate and eradicate avoidable
and preventable blindness, in particular, Corneal Blindness. There were 350
participants who benefitted from the program.
Rev. Sr Jacintha D’Souza, Principal, Father Muller College of Nursing
presided over the function. Mr Rajeev Mathew, Programme Officer, Youth Red
Cross Wing, Father Muller College of Nursing and also the Youth Red Cross
Members were present.
