Date :Sep 2, 2023

Father Muller Charitable Institution was back with the banger 'UTSAV 2023' with the motto 'UNITY IN DIVERSITY' on Saturday, 2 September 2023 at the Father Muller Convention Centre. It is one of the most OUTSTANDING events of FMCI.

FMCI celebrated ethnic day with unity as the motto for the program; all the departments of Father Muller Charitable Institution came together to make this ethnic day a colorful one. All the girls and the boys of FMCI flaunted their ethnicity.

The eventbegan with a pompous procession lead by the traditional rhythm, the Chenda. And of course, what is ethnic day for Kannadigas and Malayalis without their own Puli Kali? Chenda along with Puli Kali (tiger dance) was the main highlight of the day. Along with the chenda players and tiger dancers, everyone made their way into the hall.

The EMCEE for the event, Dr Jostol Pinto, Assistant Professor, Department of Cardiology, FMMC then took over. The occasion also summarised the events that took place and will take place around the week namely Teachers'Day, Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam and Monti Fest.

The onstage programs began seeking the Almighty's blessings and guidance with a prayer song led by the students of Father Muller College of Nursing.

Following this, Mr Aman Phillips, student of FMMC, addressed the gathering. The dignitaries were then escorted to the stage by the Rev. Fr Ajith Menezes, Administrator and Prof. Dr Ramesh Bhat, Vice Dean to light the lamp and inaugurate 'UTSAV 2023', after which Rev. FrRichard Aloysius Coelho, Director of FMCI, delivered his beautiful message.

Then, the students of Father Muller College, Department of Speech and Hearing performed the Gharba, an exhilarating colourful performance which left the audience hooting and high-spirited.

Right after, the students of Father Muller College of Nursing performed a Bollywood dance, a graceful, dynamic performance leaving the audience asking for more.

The next performance was by our own talented student band 'Spiralgroove', who rocked the stage with their unique styles, playing the crowd favourites which had the audience jamming and bobbing their heads to each melody as they played.

Then it was time for a patriotic dance performance by an exclusive dance troupe, which was truly expressive and a very synchronized performance that had the audience in complete awe.

It was then time for some extra entertainment, few spot games along with a 'RampWalk' which was concluded with a 'Best Dressed Female' and a 'Best Dressed Male' awarded for their exquisite dressing sense that impressed the judges.

On account of Onam, students from all the departments took part in a Pookalam competition. The prizes for the winners of the Pookalam competition, spot games and the best dressed male and female were then distributed.

The First prize for the Pookalam was bagged proudly by the students of Father Muller College of Nursing, Thumbay, while the students from Father Muller College, Department of Speech and Hearing bagged the second prize.

With this, the program came to an end and was concluded with words of gratitude by Ms Jenisha, student of FMMC.

The best was saved for the last, the Show-Stopper performance by the Band 'Route 96'.

But that wasn't the end of our UTSAV 2023 experience! A grand DJ was held in the Mullerian Ground where the students of FMCI partied hard dancing and grooving to the rhythmic beats of popular and favourite tunes. It was indeed an OUTSTANDING event!
