STUDENT COUNCIL INAUGURATION 2023-24

The inaugural of the student council 2023-24 of Father Muller College (Speech and Hearing) was held on 6th September 2023 at the Father Muller Decennial Memorial Hall. The program commenced by invoking the blessings of the Almighty through a prayer song by the students.

The President of the program Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director of FMCI, the Chief Guest, Dr. Clement D'Souza Professor and HOD, Department of General Surgery and the other dignitaries Rev. Fr George Jeevan Sequeira, Administrator of Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Rev. Fr Nelson Dheeraj Pais, Asst. Administrator of FMCI, Dr Antony Sylvan D'Souza, Dean of FMMC were escorted by Ms Cynthia Santhmayor, the Principal of Speech and Hearing, onto the dais.

Then the Student Council members made their way to the hall and took their seats.

The Principal gave a warm welcome to everyone present in the hall and continued with the lighting of the lamp, the auspicious Indian way to start a good beginning, the lamp was lit by the guests, the principal and the student council president.

The names of the newly elected members were announced to the assembly and they were honoured with badges for their respective position by the chief guest, the President, and the Principal. The Principal administered the oath for the student council leader.

The motto of our institution 'Heal and Comfort' which is incorporated in the institutional anthem was sung in the assembly as a mark to remind ourselves that we are Mullerians and to uphold and live up to the same motto.

The Chief guest Dr. Clement D'Souza addressed the gathering with a story about miscommunication due to hard of hearing and inspired the students which grabbed everyone's attention and then proceeded to give the students wise words of motivation.

Following the inspirational speech, Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director, FMCI and President of the program gave an empowering speech and congratulated all the student council members.

The program came to an end with a vote of thanks by the president of the student council followed by the national anthem.
