Dear Faculty, Postgraduates, Interns, Staff & Students,.

Greetings of peace from Father Muller Charitable Institutions. A hearty welcome to you to Father Muller Medical College.

Father Muller Medical College since its inception in the year 1999 has sent more than 2000 medicos to the health care industry. It is a unique College to start Post Graduation Courses in Medical Science before the commencement of undergraduate program. In 1992 P.G. in Dermatology and other subjects started in the following year. Our College is unique and only College under RGUHS, Bengaluru to get all the accreditations, NAAC, NABH & NABL. In our College U.G. program started with 100 intake of Medicos and in the year 2012 enhancement of seats from 100 to 150 was another milestone in the history of Father Mullers.

Thus MBBS and MD/MS Postgraduate programmes in almost all specialities are available in our College. In the surgical branch in 2014 M.Ch. in Urology was started as the first Super-speciality program. The year 2019 is a special year to the Medical College as it completed 2 decades in starting of undergraduate program. In the same year we are blessed to receive permission from the RGUHS & Medical Council of India (MCI) to start 2 more Super-speciality programs in Medicine branch, DM - Neurology & DM - Nephrology. Our future plan is to start a few more Super-speciality programs in Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology and Cardiology. .

Today FMCI is the oldest Health Care Institute catering to the health needs of the people since 1880 more than for 14 decades is a matter of great pride and satisfaction. In this region our Institution has become a leader among the few to be nationally accredited in India and perhaps first in the State of Karnataka. The Administration in itself is a non-profit organization which caters to the needs of the economically poor but offers an array of sophisticated and next-Gen. technology in health care, becoming a beacon to all in search of health. The accreditations and honours bestowed on the Institute has arisen out of the singular dedicated quality service put in by the Management, the faculty and the supportive staff in consistently providing and receiving efficient services with a human touch to “Heal & Comfort” as its motto.

Father Muller Medical College is the most sought College in this region because of the state of the art facilities, latest equipments and diagnostics, experienced faculty, spiritual ambience, discipline and above all the serene campus. For other activities like sports and games, Father Muller Outdoor Stadium, Indoor stadium and Gymnasium is at the service of the faculty and students

To all the students, wishing you all a pleasant journey in Father Mullers. Your hard work and disciplined life will certainly help you to reach your goal to be a medical professional. Your teachers are your mentors. They are prepared to mould you into a better human being a better health care professional. Dream big, so that you strive to realise your dream. “A dream does not become reality through magic, it takes sweat, determination and heard work” says Colin Powell, former US Defence Secretary. It’s true! To realise your dream, hard work and determination is required. Medical Science is meant for those who put in hard work or effort. Your efforts will certainly bear fruit and you will be a qualified health care professional.

The Covid-19, Corona Virus has hit the entire world, given the magnitude and the extent of its spread the WHO has declared it a Pandemic. Apart from human suffering it has caused major economic disruptions through lock down. The Central and State Governments are trying their best to fight this pandemic through various ways and means. The guidelines and protocols laid down by the Government are to be followed. This has also resulted in so many restrictions including free movement of the people. Words like “Social distancing” and “quarantining” are uttered by everyone. This is truly a new challenge to health care industry other than the already existing challenges such as inequities and poor access to health care services, fear of infectious diseases and increased risk of environmental and behavioural health problems.

As doctors you should possess skills to provide comprehensive care with compassion. I am sure your journey in Father Mullers will be smooth.
