This year’s Adrenaline marked one of the biggest college festivals in Karnataka. It was a pinnacle of success in both cultural, literary sport activities. 

An amazing feat of 15 different sports events were conducted which marks the highest in a college fest in South India. 

It also banked the highest number of colleges (61) participating in the sport events in Karnataka. 

The incredible number of participants (1945) that came along with the colleges also shows the efficiency of conduction of sport events. This number was also among the highest in a college fest. 

With the amount of effort put into the organisation, the number of matches conducted in a day was 66 on the ground. Everything was coordinated with utmost perfection and carefulness in order to practise fairness and sportsmanship.There were also a massive number of 46 different referees from all over the city, each one with undivided attention and equally involved in helping out with the conduction of the sport events. 

Thus, it marked one of the biggest sport extravaganza for University students from all over South India.

Adrenaline 2020, the annual intercollegiate, literary, cultural and sports fest was conducted from 19.02.2020 to 22.02.2020.

With intra-collegiate events beginning 2 weeks prior to the main event: students were engaged in the first Open Mic event held in Father Muller Medical College on the beautiful evening of 15.02.2020 with over 30 students from various batches showcasing their talents to an enthralled audience at the Amphitheatre.

Another first for the students of Father Mullers came in the form of the Treasure Hunt organized on 16.02.2020 which had students in groups representing various batches of MBBS and AHS battled their way into the ultimate quest.The City Centre, Mangalore was gracious enough to permit us to conduct the annual mall event as a promotion of Adrenaline. It was held on 09.02.2020.

The inauguration ceremony for Adrenaline was conducted on 19.02.2020 with Ms. Cecille Rodrigues, First Runner up of Dance India Dance Super Moms-2013 gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest along with other dignitaries.

With participation from over 50 colleges all around Karnataka for the 38 events and 7 workshops held, Adrenaline 2020 was a grand success.

The first ever Inter-collegiate Hockey tournament that Mangalore witnessed was held as a part of Adrenaline 2020. The audience were spellbound by the 3 pro shows, Flow art by Swaroop Shetty and Nishitha J A, Bangalore based band, Mad Orange Fireworks and DJ Martin D’Souza.

Adrenaline2020 also boasts of conducting the a two-day Art Exhibition and Sale, Kriti for the very first time in FMMC.

World Elders Day was celebrated at St Antony Ashram, Jeppu on 14th October ,2019.The students and staff incharge Dr Sanjay Fernandez interacted with the old people from the ashram this occasion. Biscuits and Bananas were given to nearly 400 inmates. The inmates were very happy with the interaction and the love shown by the students and staff.

National Integration Day celebration at DM hall on 19th November, 2019. Lieutenant Col. Gracian Seqeuira was the chief guest on this occasion. NYSS District Youth coordinator, Raghuveer Southerpete was also present to embrace the occasion. The Director, Administrator of Medical college and Hospital, the Dean of Father Muller Medical college and Student development staff co-ordinator were also present to grace the occasion.

The Annual interbatch Literary and Cultural fest was named INFERNO for the year 2019 and was conducted by the Student Council 2019-20 along with the students of MBBS Batch 2016.

The Chief Guest for the inauguration ceremony held on 27.09.2019 was Dr. Ashutosh R. Boloor and presided by the Director, Rev Fr. Richard Coelho while the fest was concluded on 01.10.2019 with the Director, Rev. Father Richard Coelho presiding over and handing MBBS Batch 2016 with the trophy of Overall Winners and MBBS Batch 2017 with Runner Up.

Spanning over 5 days, the annual culturals with music, dance, fine arts and literary event with the introduction of a new event, Mime for the first time, Inferno was nothing short of a grand cultural extravaganza.

MULLERPULSE, the annual college magazine and a perfect representation of the spirit and creativity of FMMC’s student body and was released on 14th Sept 2019

The programme was presided over by Rev Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, Administrator of FMMCH and Ms Vidya Dinkar, Social Activist and President of the Indian Social Action Forum was invited as the Chief Guest. They were joined on stage by other members of the management, Staff Advisor Dr Cimona D’Souza and members of the Student Council.

The much awaited release of Mullerpulse had the students cheering as the dignitaries unveiled the year’s magazine, titled ‘CREATE’.

Rev Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa and Ms Vidya Dinkar, in their address to the gathering, congratulated the Editorial Board for their work and stressed on the importance of creativity, art and literature in one’s life. The student Editor of Mullerpulse, Ms Sanjana Mathew also spoke about her journey and experiences.

The function also marked the Inauguration of the new Student Council 2019-20 and a new set of students took stage to take up their duties and responsibilities as the new representative body of the students.The solemn function ended with the college anthem and the distribution of Mullerpulse 2019 to all staff and students.

The 5th Edition of Muller Model United Nations organized by the Student Development Committee 2018-19 was a two-day conference aimed at boosting an interest in international policies and public speaking among students.

The Agendas for MULLER MUN 2019 were:

  •      International co-operation in the peaceful using of Outer Space (DISEC)
  • United Nations multidimensional integrated stabilization mission in Mali.
  •  The Organising committee of Muller MUN 2019 brought multiple new additions to the event including:

  •  Introduction of new committees like the SECURITY COUNCIL, along with the General Assembly and Press
  •   Expansion of the Executive Board by appointing Dr. Chirantan Suhrid and Lawyer Mr. Anirudh Murali from Bangalore, along with exemplary vice-chairs and moderators from our own college.
  •   1st ever Muller MUN blog page
  • The Sports Meet is an opportunity for students of FMMC to showcase their talents, energy and sportsmanship on the field and The Annual Sports Meet 2019 – ‘IGNITE’ was able to do just the same.

    The programme began with a March past by students of all batches followed by the Welcome Ceremony that was attended by members of the management, Chief Guest Mr. Vikas Puthran, the Physical Director of FMMC, staff and students.

    Mr Vikas Puthran along with the other dignitaries declared the Sports Meet open by releasing balloons.

    This was followed by a range of track and field events that witnessed overwhelming participation from the students and enthusiastic cheers from the spectators throughout the day.

    Mr Ravindra Kumar (MBBS Batch 2016) was declared the best athlete of the meet. The event concluded with medals and participation certificates being distributed to the students by the Physical Director.

    Father Muller Medical College inaugurated 4 new college clubs on 14th May 2019 under the initiative of the Student Council 2018-19. These include:

  •  Research Club
  •  Quiz Club
  • Debate Club
  • Surgical Skills Club
  • The event was presided over by Rev Fr Richard Coelho, Director of FMCI and attended by the management, staff and students of FMMC.

    Office- bearers and staff co-ordinators of the clubs were introduced. The vision and objectives of the clubs were elaborated.

    The chief guest, Mr Swastik Padma, recipient of the National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement in 2017, shared his experiences and innovations with the gathering

    The introduction of College clubs saw an overwhelming response from the students who were passionate about improving their skills in various aspects and the clubs continue to fulfill their duties through regular sessions and fun activities.

    The student council 2018-2109 of FMCI have taken pride in starting the Student Research Club, Quiz club and Debate Club to enhance their interest in extra-curricular activities. It was inaugurated on the 14th May 2018 at AV Hall, Father Muller Knowledge Centre. The function was presided by Rev Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director, FMCI and the Chief Guest was Mr Swastik Padma, a young innovator by Heart and Entrepreneur by Mind. Mr Swastik is a student of Vivekananda Engineering College, Puttur and has great innovative ideas. He has won several prizes for his work and has attended several international conferences as a special invitee. He also has received a special appreciation by the President of India and has been rewarded.

    Those who spoke on the occasion appreciated the contributions and the talent of Mr Swastik and advised the student council members and the club members to emulate Mr Padma and achieve greater heights.

    Mr Padma was honoured by the management committee and wished him greater success iis future career.

    The inaugural ceremony of the Students Council of Father Muller Medical College was held on 1 October 2018 at the Decennial Memorial Hall.

    Riya Zahir, General Secretary of the student council (2017-18), extended a cordial welcome to the gathering.

    Chief Guest, Dr Melanie Rodrigues, Instructor, Department of Surgery, Stanford University congratulated the newly elected student council representatives and wished them good luck. Emphasizing the importance of student council, she said, working as a student representative would not only benefit the institution but also boosts the students’ career. The potential to make Mangalore a major medical hub is within the ambit of the students. She further asked the students to always remain in the forefront whenever opportunities arise and make the most of them.

    Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director, FMCI, while addressing the gathering, appreciated the previous council, for their hard work and congratulated the new student’s council and shared a few words of wisdom.

    Rev. Fr Ajith B. Menezes, Administrator of Father Muller Medical College declared the new office bearers.Jerome Joseph handed over the college flag to Roshan Mariam Manu, which marked the beginning of the new student’s council.The new office bearers were then given their badges by the Chief Guest, following which, they vowed to uphold their duties as Student Council Members, by swearing an oath, guided by the Dean, FMMC, Dr Jayaprakash Alva.

    Jerome Joseph shared his previous encounters, which was followed, by a speech, from the newly elected President, Roshan Mariam Manu who shared her thoughts, ideas, goals and agendas for the upcoming year.

    Later, Rev. Fr Richard Coelho gave a memento of appreciation to the Chief Guest and presented the certificates to the members and the staff advisors of the previous council, for their extraordinary work and efforts.

    Eileen Roy, General Secretary of the student council (2018-19) proposed the vote of thanks. Sushmitha Ravi Kumar compered the programme.

    HOD’s of various departments, teaching, non-teaching staff and students of the institution were present on the occasion.

    ‘ARENA’, the most awaited intra-collegiate competition, was inaugurated, on 12th October 2018, at the Academy Hall. To match the spiritual aura, of this prestigious institution, the event began by invoking the presence of almighty followed by lamp lighting by the dignitaries.

    Dr Smitha Rasquinha, Staff Coordinator, welcomed the gathering, with a warm and inspiring message.

    Fr Ajith B. Menezes, Administrator, FMMC, florally welcomed the chief guest, Dr Malini N Hebbar, Associate Professor of English, St Agnes College, with a token bouquet.

    A powerful message from a speech, by the chief guest, who said, “If you want to hitch your wagon to a star, you have to accept the three P’s; Patience, Passion and Perseverance”, left an indelible impression on the young minds of our institution.

    The audience were then transported, to a dystopian, post-apocalyptic world, with the introduction of the theme and backdrop of Arena 2018, based on the bestselling novel,’ The Hunger Games’.

    Later, the representatives called the ‘tributes’ dressed in their respective regions attire, walked on the stage, with great pomp and grace and thus declared Arena 2018, opened.

    The chief guest was then given an apt felicitation and the inaugural ceremony concluded, with the presidential address, by the Director, FMCI, Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho. Merriyam Surrao, the cultural secretary, signed off the ceremony with a vote of thanks.

    Mullerpulse 2018, an annual magazine of Father Muller Medical College was released on 30 November 2018 at Decennial Memorial Hall.

    Ms Vidya Shenoy, President of Toastmasters Club, Mangalore was the chief guest on the occasion. Rev.Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director - FMCI presided over the function.

    The programme commenced with a prayer song from the MBBS students of the college. Dr Sudarshan Pai U, Staff Co-ordinator for Literary Committee (2017-18) and Muller pulse 2018 gave the welcome address and introduced the chief guest & the dignitaries on the dais. This was followed by lamp lighting by the esteemed dignitaries

    Launching the new magazine ‘Mullerpulse 2018 Dream’, Vidya Shenoy said, “A magazine embodies the literary soul of an institution. In modern times, when the world communicates using social media, it gives me immense pleasure to learn that a Medical College has come up with Muller Pulse-‘Dream’. Doctors are uniquely positioned to write well. They have the benefit of a good education and enriching life experiences. Magazines like Muller Pulse will pave the way for budding writers from Mullers to pen enriching writing that will certainly make a difference. As medical students, it is cumbersome and challenging to release a magazine but the efforts here are praiseworthy”, she stated.

    Rev.Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho in his presidential address congratulated the editorial team on their job and said,” Creativity makes an individual productive, which in turn helps one to contribute to the society and its development. With the ideals of creativity, dream and imagination, Muller Pulse has been released and this is one of the greatest achievements of Mullerian students.”

    “The magazine has a lot of innovative content. This magazine has provided an opportunity for the students to showcase their talents and explore their creative potential. The leadership quality and character building acquired during the production phase of the magazine will certainly go a long way”, he added.

    Ms Savitri Kini, editor of Muller Pulse 2018 shared her experiences and expressed her gratitude towards all those who have contributed in bringing out the magazine.

    The Inauguration Ceremony of Adrenaline 2018 - Live limitless, held on 21st February at 7pm was a grand affair. It began with a beautiful rendition of a prayer song followed by 'Watering of the Plant' ceremony which was an unique and refreshing substitute of the traditional lamp lighting ceremony and signified nurturing our talents as well as an ode to nature.

    Rouvin D'souza, the Cultural Secretary, delivered a powerful speech that encapsulated the essence of the fest and Dr Shailaja Katti the staff convener delivered an enthusiastic welcome address. The President of the Student Council, Jerome Joseph introduced the esteemed Chief Guest - Ms Anuradha Bhat - an award winning play back singer of the Kannada Film Industry. The chief guest along with the dignitaries, officially declared Adrenaline 2018 open by unveiling the logo. The chief guest addressing the gathering, not only inspired the students to step beyond the boundaries of academics to explore their creativity but also had the crowd dancing to her dynamic singing.

    A meaningful message was given by the Director of FMCI - Rev. Fr Richard A. Coelho and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Dipthi Castelino. A lively dance performance by the students of Father Muller ended the spectacular ceremony.

    We live in a time where people can send and receive information at the speed of a blink of an eye. This year the adrenaline team decided to join the race of information and technology by creating an app for android phones that would help the participants to keep in touch with all the events with just one click. On the 30th of January students and staff of Father Muller Charitable Institutions gathered together to launch the adrenaline app 2018. The dignitaries of the priceless function were -Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Director; Rev. Fr Ajith B. Menezes, Administrator, Father Muller Medical College; Rev. Fr Jeevan George Sequeira, Assistant Administrator, Father Muller Medical College Hospital; Dr Jayaprakash Alva, Dean, FMMC; and Dr Padmaja Udaykumar, Vice Dean, FMMC.

    The program started with kindling the lamp followed by a prayer song by the college choir. The highlights of Adrenaline 2017 were played following which, the staff members and all the committee members of adrenaline 2017 were handed over their certificates of participation. On 31 st October Father Mullers experienced its first ever social night for a cause, named as “Flaunt Your Haunt” for which the ladies circle were gracious enough to set up food stalls to help raise funds. The chairman of the Mangalore Round Table,Tabler Varadaraj Shenoy and the chairperson of Mangalore Ladies Circle, Circler Nandita D’souza presented the cheque to the student body President, Jerome Joseph and cultural secretary,Rouvin Dsouza along with staff coordinator Dr Shailaja Katti.

    With 22 days left for Adrenaline 2018, the Administrator of Father Muller Medical College, Rev. Fr Ajith B. Menezes came on stage to officially kick start Adrenaline 2018. This was followed by the Adrenaline 2018 trailer and the official inaugural of the Adrenaline App by the Director, Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho. The Director addressed the gathering and the tagline for Adrenaline 2018 “Live Limitless” was launched by all the dignitaries along with Team Adrenaline.

    The investiture of the student council for the year 2017-2018 was held on 4th November, 2017 the Decennial Memorial Hall. It was well attended by both staff and students. The solemn occasion began with the procession of the outgoing and the new student council.

    Following the prayer song and lighting of the lamp, the badges were bestowed upon the new office bearers and the oath of duty was taken by the new student leaders.

    The chief guest for the day, Mr.WalterNadalike, the Founder, Managing Director and Editor of Daijiworld Media, expressed his appreciation for the student culture at Mullers and urged the new council members to always rely on their fellow students and be receptive to all ideas, instead of depending solely on themselves and on technology.

    The president for the event was our Director, Rev. Fr Richard Coelho who expressed his high hopes for the new council. The event ended with the maiden speech of the new president, Mr Jerome Joseph.

    On the 31st of October, 2017, Mullers experienced the first if it's kind Social event aimed at raising funds for the cause of Dialysis. This event that no Mullerian missed was named “Flaunt Your Haunt”.

    It was an evening when the students and staff of FMMC took the night off from their daily role and became anything they wanted to be!

    The costumes ranged from the Madhatter, to Dracula, to even Princess Tiana! The hard work and effort that was put into each costume was not left unrecognised as there were several prizes that were given away. The Three main categories were:

    • The best dressed couple 
    • Best dressed male who was named Mr. Halloween 
    • Best dressed female who was named Ms. Halloween.

    It was not just the costumes and the prizes that made everyone get into the spirit of Halloween, one cannot leave out the incredible decorations that spanned the academy hall, be it the ginormous spider web overhead, to the X-ray photo booth or the fire pillars that lit the entrance. 

    This evening was not just a treat for the eyes but for the stomach as well, satisfying the cravings of everyone gathered there. There was a bake sale organised by the students dishing out delicious pastry items and a food stall courtesy of The Ladies Cirlce, Mangalore serving savoury items.

    However, the highlight of the evening was the music that every leg shook to, thanks to DJ Chris!

    Flaunt Your Haunt served its purpose of being a Social event, with students and staff of all courses coming together to have a gala time as well being a Fund Raising event with the funds raised to the tune of ₹34000 for the cause of Dialysis.

    The Mullerpulse 2017 Annual Magazine of FMMC was released on 16th October 2017 at 3.30 pm. in the Decennial Memorial Hall. Dr. Geralyn Pino, Associate Professor and HOD, Department of PG Studies in English, St. Agens College, Mangalore was the Chief Guest.
