MEU programs 2021

Since June 2021, the MEU has been conducting monthly online training sessions ‘Experientia Doctrina’ where medical college faculty share best practices in teaching and assessment.

1.Program: teachers’ evaluation Date: Weekday afternoons in January Resource persons: senior medical college faculty Participants : senior residents Outcome : senior residents were evaluated and graded on teaching skills
2.Program: linker cases for integration Date: 12.2.2021 Resource persons: MEU members Participants : 30 medical college faculty Outcome : in groups comprising faculty from preclinical, paraclinical and clinical faculty, participants framed linker cases which are in the process of being collated as a book to aid in vertically integrate teaching
3.Program: medical writing workshop ( in collaboration with the research centre) Date: 31.03.2021 Resource persons: MEU members Participants : 42 medical college faculty Outcome : participants learnt about search skills, basics of medical writing, publication ethics
4.Program: Revised Basic Course Workshop Date: 2,3,4 September Resource persons: MEU members Participants : 30 medical college faculty Outcome : participants were trained in domains of learning, writing objectives, small and large group teaching, assessment

1.Program: E learning workshop Date: 23.01.2020 – 24.01.2020 Resource persons: Dr. Narasimman, Dean, Allied Health Sciences, Sri RamachandraUniversity, Chennai Participants :28 medical college faculty Outcome : participants learnt various methods of using the web and electronic resources for teaching learning. This proved invaluable in the ensuing lockdown.
2.Program: career guidance meet ( in collaboration with the alumni association) Date: 25.02.2020 Resource persons: Dr. Amith Shenoy , pulmonologist and critical care physician, new York, USA Participants : 78 interns and 53 final MBBS students Outcome : participants learnt about how to succeed in USMLE and matching for residency.
3.Program: Curriculum Implementation Support Program Date: 15.09.2020-16.09.2020 Resource persons: MEU members Participants : 29 medical college faculty Outcome : participants were trained in the new Competence Based Medical Education curriculum mandated by the Government Of India And The National Medical Council
4.Program: Essential Teaching Skillsworkshop for senior residents Date: 27.11.2020 – 28.11.2020 Resource persons: MEU members Participants : 28 senior residents from the medical college Outcome : senior residents underwent training in basics of medical education like domains of learning, framing objectives, large group teaching, clinical and practical skill teaching
