PSYCME'24 Series 2
The Continuing Medical Education (CME), PSYCME'24 Series 2 titled "Prioritizing Mental Health in the Workplace" to commemorate World Mental Health Day (October 10) and as a part of the Ruby Jubilee celebration of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital was held on October 14, 2024 at Father Muller Seminar Hall.
The event aimed to raise awareness about mental health issues, particularly in the workplace, and to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools to promote mental well-being.
The inaugural program was presided over by a panel of esteemed dignitaries, including Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, Designate Director, FMCI and Administrator FMHMC, Dr ESJ Prabhu Kiran, Principal, Dr Girish Navada U.K., HOD and Dr Justina Steefan, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry.
Dr Rashmi A, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry, Father Muller Medical College, Kankanadt was the resource person.
The inaugural programme began with prayer song led by the residents of Psychiatry department, following with a welcome address by6 Dr Girish Navada U.K. HOD of Psychiatry.
The session was inaugurated traditionally by lighting the lamp.
Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo delivered his message and felicitated the Resource Person Dr Rashmi A, in recognition of her expertise and contributions to the field of psychiatry.
Dr Justina M Steefan expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, Resource person and the delegates through a vote of thanks. The inaugural program was concluded with the institution anthem.
Dr. Rashmi
delivered an engaging presentation covering the following key points:
- Definition and importance of mental
health in the workplace.
- Common mental health issues
faced by employees.
- Strategies for creating a
supportive work environment.
- Role of management and
colleagues in fostering mental well-being.
- Resources available for employees seeking help.
There was a role play related to the topic by Dr Grace and Dr Pooja (psychiatry pgs.)
Following the presentation, participants engaged in a lively discussion, sharing personal experiences and best practices related to mental health in their respective workplaces.
The CME session successfully raised
awareness about the critical role of mental health in the workplace and
provided valuable insights for promoting mental well-being among employees. We
look forward to organizing more such educational events in the future.
