Participation in Walkthon to raise awareness about drug abuse in the city
The Mangalore Diocese, in
association with the Catholic Board of Education, Father Muller Charitable
Institutions, St. Aloysius College, and St. Joseph's Engineering College,
organized a walkathon on Friday, October 18, 2024, to raise awareness about drug
abuse in the city.
The event commenced at St.
Aloysius College at 2 p.m., where students carried drug abuse awareness
placards and walked to Nehru Maidan.
290 students from Father
Muller Homoeopathic Medical College actively participated in the mega
walkathon, holding hoardings that advocated against drug abuse.
Prominent dignitaries,
including Deputy Commissioners of Police Sidharth Goyal and Dinesh Kumar, Rev.
Fr Melwyn Pinto, Rev. Fr Praveen Leo Lasrado, Rev. Fr. Ajith Menezes, Louis J.
Pinto, Dr Roshan Monteiro, and Elias Fernandes, graced the occasion.
The program concluded with Dr
Shivashankar delivering a vote of thanks.
