Overview
The department is currently facilitated with a good number of materials of academic importance. A total of 81 computerized and laminated charts are displayed on the walls for quick reference. Systematically arranged homoeopathic museum has been upgraded with 10 new specimens in this year. Department also displays 91 acrylic sheet-bound and 14 marble-engraved herbarium charts in its herbarium section. In addition, a total of 22 handmade charts are exhibited in the demonstration room for ready references. The departmental library contains 135 books with three new additions in this year. The department is also maintaining an Herbal Garden inside the college campus with 185 medicinal plants. Students get opportunity to identify and learn about the medicinal plants through open air classroom teaching.
Infrastructure and other facilities as prescribed by CCH are available in the department. The department is collaborated with Homoeopathic Pharmaceutical division for the benefit of Post – graduate students. Department is running the only Postgraduate course in Homoeopathic Pharmacy in the state of Karnataka and as one of the four institutions in India. Thrice a week subject seminar, journal club and topic discussion other than regular theory and practical classes and clinical posting do feature in the PG program. Regular posting in HPD, Dispensing section of OPD area part of PG program. Special classes which are taken by experts in the concerned field for PG students are also arranged in the reputed Pharmacy College of the city on a regular basis.
Activities of the Department
- The Department has organizeda national seminar, Dynacon on April 26, 2015 in association with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Karnataka, Bangalore.
