INTER-BATCH CULTURAL FEST – ARCADIA '16
One of the
most awaited events of the Mullerian calendar, the inter-batch Cultural Fest –
ARCADIA '16, began on the 18th of
October and gave the Mullerians a week full of fun memories and equally intense
competition.
ARCADIA '16
began with a unique opening ceremony where the theme of the six day fest was
unveiled along with the one of a kind "projection mapping" backdrop
crafted by the students of the organizing batch – MBBS batch of 2013. The Chief
Guest for the function, Dr.Priya Ballal, expressed her good wishes for the fest
and also emphasized on the importance of arts and cultural events in providing
medical students with a truly holistic education. Each day following the
inaugural, then unfolded with a wide array of literary, fine arts, cultural and
other events, the campus abuzz with excitement, and the venue for the fest
being houseful for every event. Of the 27 events conducted, Knock-out Dancing, Mad-Ads
and the Fashion Show had the spectators completely mesmerized.
The
valedictory ceremony was conducted on 23rd October, the last day of
the fest. It was presided over by the Director of Father Muller Charitable
Institutions, Rev. Fr Patrick Rodrigues, who in his address appreciated the
efforts of the organizing team headed by Dr Nicole Pereira – Staff Convener, Ms
Shruthi R. – Cultural Secretary and Mr Raymond Antony – President of the
Student Council. The cultural extravaganza came to an end with the Luminaries
of Batch 2013 being the overall champions and the Exorians of Batch 2014, the
runners up.
During the
two weeks leading up to the fest, the organizing team did a little bit more
than just providing a platform for fun and entertainment. They worked for a
cause, raising money for patients with chronic kidney disease who require
Dialysis. All proceedings acquired during the fest were directed towards the
Student Council Medical Relief Fund. All in all, ARCADIA ’16 was a truly
memorable experience!
