GUEST LECTURE ON LEG ULCERS & DIABETIC FOOT BY DR. ROBBIE K. GEORGE
The Department of General
Surgery in association with Medicine, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Endocrinology
and Plastic Surgery Father Muller Medical College, conducted Guest Lecture on 12th May 2017 (Friday) at
3.00 – 4.30 p.m. at Hospital Conference Hall.
The inaugural function was presided over by Rev. Fr. Richard Coelho,
Director In-charge, FMCI and Administrator, FMMCH. The programme began with prayer song. Dr. Leo Francis Tauro, Professor & HOD,
Department of Surgery, welcomed the gathering.
Dr. Prathvi Shetty, Assoiciate Professor, Dept. of Surgery introducted
the Guest speaker, Dr. Robbie K. George to the gathering. The Guest Lecture was inaugurated by
lighting the lamp by the dignitaries. Rev.Fr. Richard Coelho,
President of the function in his inaugural address stressed on the importance
of multi disciplinary approach in treating the leg ulcers. These kind of lectures will help the
postgraduates and junior doctors to upgrade their knowledge for the better care
of the patients.

Robbie K. George, MS, DNB, FRCS (Gla.) FRCS (Gen. & Vas.), Head – Dept. of
Vascular Surgery, Consultant Vascular & Endovascular Surgeon, Narayana Hrudayalaya,
Bengaluru delivered a Lecture on “Diabetic foot & leg ulcersâ€. Dr.
Erel A.I. Diaz, Professor & Unit Head, Department of Surgery, Dr.
Nandakishore, Professor & Unit Head, Department of Dermatology and Dr.
Aravind, Associate Professor, Department of Plastic Surgery had moderated the
session. Dr. Rakesh Rai, Professor & Unit Head, Department of Surgery
proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compiled by Dr. Nisha S. Thambuchetty
and Dr. Supriya Pinto, Surgery Postgraduate Resident. Approximately 100 delegates have attended the
guest lecture.
