Nutritional Awareness Program
The
students of IIsemester BSc Nursing, Father Muller College of Nursing, conducted
a Nutritional awareness program on the topic Healthy Food Vs Junk Food
in St. Jospeh Higher Primary School Kulsheker Mangaluru on 30/07/2024 at 10.30
am under the guidance and supervision of Mrs Deepika N C Assistant Professor
and Mrs Raina Jenifer Mascarenhas Assistant Lecturer, Department of Community
Health Nursing, FMCON.
The
objectives of the program were to create awareness among school children
regarding the importance of healthy food towards health maintenance and the ill
effects of junk food. Rev Father Vijay Montero Assistant Parish Priest, Holy
Cross church Kulsheker addressed the gathering regarding the importance of
nutrition. A skit was performed by the students followed by a health talk.
Children were entertained by performing dance and conducting games.
Students were presented with different types of diets. Dr Sasikumar Professor and HOD of the Department of Medical Surgical Nursing and Mr Manoj P S Assistant Professor Department of Child Health Nursing, evaluated the nutrition program. A total of 500 school children, 15 teachers, 7 department faculty and 100 II Sem BSc Nursing students benefited from the program.
