Health talk on Menstrual Hygiene
On 13th August the department of Child Health Nursing along with the students of second year GNM, Father Muller School and College of Nursing organized a Health talk on "Menstrual Hygiene" at 2.15pm am at Sacred Heart English Medium School, Kulshekar, under the guidance of Prof.Wilma S.Noronha and Sr Lavita Dias. The health education program commenced with an invocation and a welcome speech. Students were made aware through a role play performance, a short video on Menstrual Hygiene, and a PowerPoint presentation.
The teaching mainly focused on the meaning of Menstruation, its phases and discomfort. Additionally, healthy practice related to Menstrual Hygienediscussed, and children were given the opportunity to ask questions and clear their doubts. The programme had 115 beneficiaries, which included five teaching faculty members. Fifty seven Nursing Students and two department staff. The program concluded at 3.30pm PM with vote of thanks, followed by the distribution of token of love to the children.
