Radio Programmme : closing the gap: Breast feeding support for all
On observance of world breast feeding week celebration- 2023 with the theme closing the gap: Breast feeding support for all. A radio programme was hosted by the Department of Child Health Nursing, FMCON, at All India Radio 100.3FM, Mangaluru. The Departmental Faculty Prof. Wilma Shalini Noronha , Prof Helen Claret DSouza and Dr Josmitha Maria Dsouza participated in the radio programme as resource person. The topic was delivered in Kannada language and the following content was covered: Significance of the week ,breastfeeding and its impact on nation, colostrum feeding, Benefits of breastfeeding, feeding techniques, problems and issues related breastfeeding practices, support system available for the breast feeding mothers, importance of human milk banking . On 23 July 2024, All India Radio (Akashavani) recorded the conversation. The programme will be broadcast on All India Radio 100.3FM on 05August 2024at 11 am in Vannithavani section.
