SCHOOL HEALTH PROGRAMME
Department of Community Health
Nursingalong with IV BSc (N) students organised a school health programme for
the students of Dakshina Kannada Primary School, Krishnapura on 1st
July 2024. The session began with the inaugural followed by a role play on the
Prevention of unhealthy food. Education on Balanced diet and prevention of Junk
food was also given.
After a short break, awareness of
good and bad touch among kids was discussed. Later menstruation and menstrual
hygiene were discussed.
All the students underwent physical
examination focusing on height, weight and calculation of degree of
malnutrition. Snellen'schart was used for eye testing and students who faced
health issues were referred to the health centre through the school
authorities.
The programme ended at1.15 pm. A
total of 63 students and 7 school teachers participated in the programme.
